The 100th Post

(Cue the Star Wars Theme music) and thank Lindsay at Waking Up Williams for the inspiration.

100 50 Things You May or May Not Know (Or Even Care to Know) About Me:

  1. I bite my nails like a starving freak. I.cannot.stop. I’ve tried a millions things. Nothing works. I am destined to have man-hands the rest of my life.
  2. My arms pop out of socket. Like a circus freak, I have these crazy shoulder sockets that allow me to pop them out of socket with ease and pain free. I’ve had specialists ask to write books about it. To be exact they said, “I’ve read of people like you, but I’ve never actually seen someone like you.” Yes, dear readers, me and Big Foot have something in common. Besides our freakish hands.
  3. I rowed for a collegiate team my freshman year of college. I was a walk-on and was shocked that I made the team. I woke up everyday my freshman year of college and rowed my fat ass off (literally, dropped two pant sizes freshman year) at un-godly times of the morning. And I loved every.single.minute. of it.
  4. Brace yourself – I don’t give blow jobs. Something seems un-natural and odd to me about putting my mouth on an object that spews urine as its primary function. I’m sorry guys and I’ll tell my husband you’re sorry for him, but he knew this before he married me.
  5. On that note, I learned how to give a hand job in the cafeteria my sophomore year of high school. I went to an all-girl Catholic high school and my best friend taught me using her forearm. I didn’t get up the nerve to use said skill until my junior year. (Whoever thought hand jobs were worthwhile surely had issues. What the hell is the point? I am sure he could do it better than I could any day of the week.)
  6. Myspace led to my marriage. When my husband left for Germany Myspace was HOTT and we were full-blown Myspace official. We set up photo albums, left each other flirty messages, sent each other emails and made each other crazy jealous – all from the comfort of our desks. Thank you, Myspace.
  7. I got into a fight in fourth grade for singing Baby Got Back. Some other girl told me to shut up and my extra tiny BFF told her to make us. And, with all her bad-ass super tall fourth grade strength, she did.
  8. I love country music. LOVE it.
  9. I’ve had two c-sections as well as knee and ankle reconstructive surgery. Basically, I crack when I walk.
  10. My mom is my hero. She is the President and Founder of pharmaceutical sales company and she’s basically amazing.
  11. I’ve touched or fed a: Sumatran rhino, Indian rhino, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, two-toed sloth, king penguin, African penguin, African serval, aardvark, potto, wallaby, bearcat, American alligator, boa constrictor, lorikeet, kea, red river hog and manatees. Basically, my job is amazing.
  12. I’m an only child. And, I like it that way.
  13. I was bitten in the face by a German Shepherd when I was five years old. I still have a scar.
  14. My husband purposed to me when I was half asleep, and I tackled him when I woke up and realized he wasn’t kidding. True story.
  15. I boxed in high school. It was basically the coolest thing I’ve ever done. I totally felt like Rocky leaving the sweaty old corner gym in the evenings. Bad ass if I do say so myself.
  16. I watch the UFC and I actually enjoy it, against my better judgment.
  17. On that note, I hate kick boxing. Kicking is for girls. Really, really wimpy girls. Men should not kick.
  18. I took three years of American Sign Language. I was inspired by my dad and his close friend who is deaf. I remembered watching their fingers fly as a child and loving the thought of them having a secret language that no one else understood.
  19. My parents are divorced, but my mom and dad are and always have been great friends.
  20. My girl name for Bubs (if he would have been a girl) was Madison Grace. It was NOT the name I chose for Bubbette.
  21. I love a good underdog movie. Remember the Titans, Rocky, Rudy…
  22. I’ve done two pilgrimages in my life. One to Mexico City, in honor of Our Lady of Guadeloupe and to New Mexico, where I stayed on a Navajo Reservation and helped people prepare homes and schools for the typhoon season.
  23. I have a creepy gap between my big toe and my second toe. I’ve convinced most of  the people in my life, at one point or another, that I was born with 12 toes and two were removed. Thank goodness my children don’t have this weird trait. I may have convinced them they had 12 toes too. LOL
  24. I drove home from Miami Florida when I was 15 because my dad was too tired to drive and refused to pull over. Luckily, it wasn’t the first time he pulled a stunt like this & I was a pretty good driver by then.
  25. I’ve never worked in a bar/restaurant setting. Friends find this odd. Most of my friends at some point or another have worked in food/service. I have not. Weird?
  26. I have always hated formal writing/research papers, etc. Short (usually), sweet, and informal is my thing.
  27. My husband has just the right amount of chest hair – I love it. He hates it. But, he keeps it just for me. Ew, right? I used to think so, but now I think it’s SEXY.
  28. I can go anywhere without makeup and in sweatpants. I have no problem with looking grungy in public.
  29. I believe #29 is due to the fact that I went to an all-girl Catholic high school. We NEVER looked nice. EVER.
  30. I had so many demerits in high school I had to see a behavior advisor my senior year once a week and talk about the demerits I got that week and how I can modify my behavior. ReDONKulous.
  31. I’ve had an unatural number of people die that I have known/loved, for being so young.
  32. I started out as a Pre-Law student before switching majors to  Art History…before switching majors to communications. Weird progression? I think so.
  33. I do this weird thing where I pick up and suddenly take on any accent I am around for more than 24 hours. It’s like my subconscious knows I want to be more worldly.
  34. I am SO done having kids. More on that soon.
  35. I am re-thinking my decision to write this.
  36. I see a Crystal Therapist every other week for Crystal Sessions. It invigorates my chi.
  37. I am prone to Staph Infection. I’ve had it three times. It’s no good.
  38. I had a panic attack during BOTH of my c-sections.
  39. Due to #38 I love anesthesiologists
  40. My children go to the pediatrician I had as a child. In the same office my own father went to as a child.
  41. I  have the invites and cake picked out for Bubbette’s first birthday. In August.
  42. I have an Anonymous Blog. Just Kidding. Or Am I?
  43. I played an entire basketball tournament on a broken growth plate above my ankle. That qualifies me as bad ass or something, right?
  44. I cut the tip of my finger off with a machete while playing hide and seek. It was in the back of a closet that I was hiding in. Note to grandparents – put your weapons away when you have grand kids. I still have a scar.
  45. I almost failed my drivers test because my dad has illegally tinted windows and let me take the test in his car.
  46. I pee’d the bed in 7th grade after watching the movie, “The Crow.” or whatever it was. I am still trying to forget about it.
  47. I honestly believe I fell when I arrived on the scene at Bubs accident because the good Lord knew I couldn’t handle being able to be all up in the action. Either could Bubbette.
  48. I believe in God. The power of prayer. In miracles. And angels. And saints.
  49. I have an amazing giveaway planned for Bubbette’s first birthday. LOTS of prizes. August 6!
  50. I am WAY too boring to list 100 things. So, there you have it. Leave a comment if you’re still awake.

Here’s to 100 more!

We have a lot in common. And I too have no problem going out in public looking like a scrub, amongst a lot of other traits we have in common. Job well done

That is an awesome and fascinating list. you’ve lived quite a life so far! Idon’t think you’re that unusal on the blow job thing, either. I partake because it is good leverage on other things. Seriously. And, I know it makes the dude happy.

Congrats on the 100th post! Mine is coming up soon, too. I will go just about anywhere with no makeup on, but I won’t go anywhere without flat ironing my hair…weird, I know!

I’ve been a nail-biter since I was 6. Every now & then I’ll manage to quit but as soon as I get into a stressful situation I go right back to chomping on them again. I feel your pain with the man hands!

Love it! Especially #4 and #5.

Great job on your 100th post lady! I can relate to the nail biting, country music, and even the chest hair thing! Never thought I could love a man with chest hair! You go girl!

What a fun list! You’ve got some great things on there. I don’t know that I could come up with anything that interesting. I’m laughing at the chest hair comment, because I can’t stand body hair. I shave EVERYTHING and wish my husband would to. Every time I hear that Train song where the guy talks about his “untrimmed chest” I throw up in my mouth a little bit!!

You are far from boring! But now I feel boring. I never wear makeup. Even though my mom tells me I should. That requires too much effort.

I’m following from Welcome Wednesday. Great blog you have! I find myself laughing out loud and shaking my head in agreement. I’ll be reading more.

No blow jobs? Really?

We’ll have to agree to disagree on that one.

And also country music.

But you have given me so many other things to love about you that I will overlook those flaws. Although seriously? No blow jobs?

You have blown my mind. Hee hee!

Boxing? Really?

Blame Kris, she sent me here from her blog and only made a reference to #4. ~~LOL~~

Okay… well.

#17- No kick boxing but you like UFC? WTF! BTW- I’m 40+ and working on getting my ass kicked in kajukenbo. Only 2 broken toes, a broken rib and torn knee ligament in the first year… now in my 2nd year and still going with only minimal loss of motion. I dunno, it’s better than sitting on my ass I guess.

#23 reminded me of the Addams Family movie… combination to their safe was 2-10-11 (eyes, fingers, toes).

#35- 1st rule of the internetz, there’s no take-backs. You hit “submit” and you’re etenally screwed. About 10 years ago I used to blog on a CNET site… so done with blogging. Now I just harass others on their blogs.

#43.. basketball? How tall are you? I used to work with a gal who was 6’6″ and her 2 brothers were all 6’10″ or taller. Nobody in her family ever played basketball. They were ASU football freaks.

#44- You play hide and see for keeps! What’s next, razor blades hidden randomly in sofa cushions for laughs? Wow.

I’ll leave your URL on bathroom stalls at work: for a good time post @… I certainly had a good time reading this one. Laters!

Axel, please dont’ tell me whatever the hell kajukenbo is involves grown men kicking each other. I like you. I’d hate to think I can take you. My 5’10″ frame is no match for your friends, but I still feel like my one numb fingertip could take anyone that kicks their opponents to death. Just sayin’.

Things we have in common…

#2 – Not my arms, but my left thumb.
#4 – Couldn’t agree more.
#8 – Grew up on it… So will my kids.
#12 – LOVE it that way, until I think about burying my dad :’(
#16 – Not weird at all. I know a lot of women that watch it.
#18 – I have a deaf cousin so it just seemed to fit.
#23 – I would take a picture – but feet are gross!
#25 – While I haven’t done it, I think I would be good at it.
#26 – Who DOES enjoy them?
#27 – A little chest hair is kind of nice!
#28 – Can and DO!
#31 – I can’t count them all on my hands… That many.
#45 – I DID fail because my step-mom didn’t have an insurance card in the car.
#48 – That is my foundation!

Loved this post! It’s nice to know more about YOU : )

This is such a great idea – so much inspiration from your blog already today!
I love country music too which is not that common in Scotland, I’ve never worked in a bar or restaurant either – that never sounded like a good option to me. I’m with you on the makeup and sweat pants although I may change my mind about the makeup within the next 10 years!
