Ready, Set, Go!

I am busy preparing myself, my family and my mind for flying with Bubbette for the first time this Friday. I envision us gracefully passing people in the airport, busy with holiday travelers. I see us going to the counter, checking our luggage and smiling as we pass frustrated families. I see us strolling onto the plane and finding our seats…settling in for a comfortable trip where the six year old sits and plays Nintendo DS and the baby sleeps like an angel…

And then I snap out of it!

I keep writing and re-writing lists upon lists of things not to forget – things to pack – things to carry on…but I know that nothing can prepare you for traveling with an infant and a young child. However, I keep my eye on the prize. I keep thinking about the beach, sipping on cold drinks, “admiring” toned beach bodies of people I used to consider “my generation” (back before children) and seeing the joy in my son’s face when he smells the ocean air and sees the pool glimmering in the sun. That’s what it is all about – that’s what makes the hussle all worth the hassle.

Bubbette is either teething or just thoroughly enjoys the taste of human flesh because she knaws on her hands NON-STOP! I am packing Orajel just in case….proof below.
